Criss-Cross

Children

Criss-Cross is a summer holiday club for children run by King’s Church in partnership with Christians across the Tandridge district.

Aims

It has twin aims: to give children an opportunity to learn about God’s extraordinary love; and to give Christians from different churches an opportunity to work together.

What to expect

Each day of Criss-Cross starts and ends in the main hall with games, songs, talks, drama, puppets and competitions. In between, there is sport, craft, workshops and a chance to explore the day’s theme.

Children bring their own snacks, drinks and lunch. Some children have severe allergies, so we ask that no nuts of any kind are brought on to the site.

If you would like to book in your child, fill in the form at the bottom of this page.

Church Groups

Criss-Cross is an ideal opportunity for churches that want to provide a holiday club experience for their children but don’t have the resources to run their own. They can book in their children as a group, and send along their own leaders, enabling them to follow up the teaching in their own churches afterwards.

On the Sunday following Criss-Cross, King’s Church celebrates the event at its morning service. We encourage churches who have booked in as a group to do to the same at their venues.

History

The vision for Criss-Cross began in 2012. It lay dormant for four years before emerging in the form of a holiday club for ten children at the King’s Church Centre in Oxted. At this modest event, we were able to share the love of Jesus, and were privileged to work with Christians from local Anglican and Baptist churches. In 2017, we built on this foundation and ran a holiday club for 78 children at Oxted School, widening the net of local churches who were involved.

Our hope is to continue this work for many years to come.
