The Friday Club

Children

Having fun with friends is the order of the day at The Friday Club, and who better to have fun with than Jesus.

What to expect

A typical club night starts with free play and a healthy snack – fresh fruit – served with water or squash. We open the evening officially by welcoming God into our midst, before sharing news, singing, and learning Bible verses in a relaxed and happy way. We alternate games and craft from week to week, and once every half term we hold a much-anticipated Chocolate Week.

From time to time, the children take part in talent shows, one-off parties, and charity events. By far the most popular activity so far has been CIC Week – pronounced "kick" and standing for Children in Charge. Club members run the evening themselves, choosing the entertainment and food.

The Friday Club is open to all children aged five to eleven. The quality of teaching attracts not only youngsters from King’s Church, but also from other churches in the area. Our aim is not to poach these children, simply to bless them. It is testament to the truth of this statement that half our members come from King’s Church and half from local Anglican and Baptist churches.
