Don't dump it in my office!

Hi, I work for King’s Church, we meet at Oxted School on Sunday mornings, but our offices are at Amy Road in Oxted.  I am the church administrator and I work with seven other people.  If the Church is a family then I suppose that makes us a micro-family here in the office. Just like a family, we support and care about one another, are different and have unique personalities, just like the family we might live with.

My office is at the front of the building and is spacious, however, we are often short of storage space at Amy Road, so sometimes my office has to become a holding room where EVERYONE dumps stuff for various reasons! Being a tidy person who likes everything in its place – I see red.

Before I became a Christian, I would have told everyone off and kicked up a fuss. However now I am a Christian, and the Bible tells me I am to be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger (James 1:19). So when my office fills up with stuff, I enquire as to why the objects have been there for the last 2 weeks, rather than getting cross. Sometimes I count to 10 (in my head) and ask for an explanation as to why everyone’s stuff is creating an assault course for me to get to the incoming mail. I listen to the reply, then find a solution or accept it needs to be stored there for a short time. After all endurance produces character, doesn’t it (Romans 5:4).

I try to apply this to all aspects of my life; sometimes I fail but, after all, I am work in progress.

NOTICE

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ITEMS IN MY OFFICE BECAUSE YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE ELSE TO PUT THEM!!

God bless
